The Zoot Art Gallery in Bozeman is pleased to announce its upcoming exhibit, “Holding Space with Lauren and Rachel”. Presented artist Lauren Woods and Rachel Jackson.
Lauren Woods was born and raised in the Mad River Valley in Central Vermont, where she found ceramics in high school and never looked back! In February of 2015 Lauren and her dog Brady joined her now husband, Gavin in Bozeman. By 2017 Lauren had opened her own private clay studio, that she rented to other local potters and hosted events and classes in until 2020 when she moved from a 900 sqft studio to 3200 sq ft studio and opened a shop! Inner Alchemy was located at 16 South Tracy and was Lauren’s studio, teaching space, event space, and rental space where she offered clay studio rentals to folks that have taken her classes.
In 2025 Lauren closed her shop and studio space to pursue a degree at Montana State University, she moved her studio space into The Pottery Den where she teaches, and helps with studio operations. Lauren is also an Astrologer, flower essence practitioner, and nature enthusiast. Trail running is her mental health, but reading in the sun with her dog is a very close second. Lauren loves functional pottery, porcelain is her most loved clay, but she loves to play and explore with clay!
Rachel Jackson is a contemporary embroidery artist and photographer who began combining her two passions to create mixed media art with a focus on nature, writing, and blasts of color.
She is constantly evolving her craft and adding in new media, including canvas, cloth, paper and clothing. What started out as a hobby has grown into a beautiful business creating adventures and meet countless authentic people around the world. She is proud to share some of those experience in their curated exhibit.
The exhibit will be on view from July 6th – September 26th with a public opening reception Thursday August 6th from 5pm – 6:30pm at Zoot Enterprises.
Zoot is committed to championing the Montana art community. The corporate exhibit space is open to the public and hosts rotating works by Montana artists for the enjoyment of employees and the community. The gallery has an expansive open area for sculpture and boasts over 100 square feet of vertical exhibit surfaces. One exhibiting artist described it as “…arguably the finest gallery space in the area.”
All work sold through the gallery is commission-free. The exhibits of Montana-only artists rotate approximately every three months and are selected by the Zoot Committee for the Arts.
