The Zoot Art Gallery in Bozeman is pleased to announce its all new exhibit, “Woodburning,” presented by artist Stephen Johnson.
Stephen Johnson: Woodburning
Stephen Johnson’s artistic journey began in his childhood, fueled by his passion for drawing. He honed his skills through various projects, including window art, billboards, and murals, even collaborating with NBA players. After relocating to Montana, Johnson expanded his portfolio with faux painting, church decorations, and magazine features.
A life-changing heart attack in 2009 led Johnson to rediscover woodburning, which became his primary medium. He combined this with his newfound interest in photography, ensuring all his artworks were original, inspired by his own captured images.
Johnson’s woodburning pieces are meticulously crafted, often depicting scenes from Montana and Yellowstone. Each artwork is a testament to his dedication and the unique blend of his artistic talents.
The exhibit will be on view from January 6th 2026 – March 30th 2026 at Zoot Enterprises. Gallery hours are 9am – 5pm.
Zoot is committed to championing the Montana art community. The corporate exhibit space is open to the public and hosts rotating works by Montana artists for the enjoyment of employees and the community. The gallery has an expansive open area for sculpture and boasts over 100 square feet of vertical exhibit surfaces. One exhibiting artist described it as “…arguably the finest gallery space in the area.”
All work sold through the gallery is commission-free. The exhibits of Montana-only artists rotate approximately every three months and are selected by the Zoot Committee for the Arts.
