The Zoot Art Gallery in Bozeman is pleased to announce its upcoming exhibit, Flow State, featuring sculptural works by Kurt Palmquist. This exhibit explores the fluidity between mind and body during the creative process. Flow state, a period of energized focus, full involvement and enjoyment, occurs when we find ourselves “in the zone.” during creative activity.
Kurt’s artwork probes his fascination with three-dimensional geometric forms inspired by his lifelong passion for architecture and light. “I strive to find harmony through the forms I create, how they combine with each other and the color palettes used.” The not-so-subtle influences of architecture and graphic design reverberate throughout his work, expressing freedom and movement while maintaining a sense of order.
The exhibit will be on view from January 3 through March 30, 2023, with an opening reception Friday, January 13, from 5-7 pm at Zoot Enterprises.
Open to the public, the corporate exhibit space hosts rotating works by Montana artists for the enjoyment of employees and the community. The gallery has an expansive open area for sculpture and boasts over 100 square feet of vertical exhibit surfaces. One exhibiting artist described it as “…arguably the finest gallery space in the area.”
All work sold through the gallery is commission-free, and underwriting is provided for opening receptions. The exhibits of Montana-only artists rotate approximately every three months and are selected by the Zoot Committee for the Arts.
